Bin Types
Unsure about the bin and the size you need? No worries!
Read on about the various bin types Redooo provides and what is the right bin for you.

Mobile or Wheelie Bins
Wheelie bins (sometimes called rear lift bins, mobile garbage bins or MGB for short) usually come in one of the following sizes 120L, 240L, 660L or 1,100L. They are particularly useful if you need to move them around your property and in order to make them accessible for collection (in urban surroundings, difficult pick up locations, narrow streets, challenging areas etc.)
In most cases, wheelie bins are manoeuvered to the side or rear of the vehicle, where the bin is placed on a hydraulic lifter. In the vehicle body the waste is compacted in order to maximise vehicle utilisation.
Once the truck is fully loaded, the commodities are transported for further treatment at a transfer station, recycling centre or go to landfill for disposal. Some rear-load vehicles are also fitted with scales that can weigh the waste.
Rear-load vehicles are lower in height than many other waste collection vehicles, making wheelie bins a good choice for areas that have height restrictions, such as underground carparks, or areas with overhead power lines.
Front Lift Bins
Front-lift bins are generally large steel bins that come in 1.5m³, 3m³ and 4.5m³ sizes. Front-lift bins are one of the most cost effective and robust collection systems and commonly used by small businesses where the bins can be emptied without worrying about overhead collisions with wires or other structures.
Front lift collections are performed where the bins are lifted over the front of the vehicle by hydraulic arms that weigh the bin, emptying waste overhead before being compacted within the vehicle body. Once the vehicle is full, it is transported for disposal via a transfer station to a local landfill or directly to a recycling facility.
Cages
Cages mostly used for plastics or cardboard start with smaller sizes of 1m³, 2m³ and 3m³, but go all the way up to 15m³ or 25m³.
Skip Bins, Skip Bags and Crane Bins
Skips and crane bins are most often seen in sizes ranging between 1.5m³ to 8m³. Skip bags on the other hand are generally smaller around the 1.5m³ to 3m³ size.
In any case, skip bins and bags are lifted onto the rear of the truck by a hydraulic arm and locked into place for transport to a landfill or recycling facility. In most cases the contents of the bin are weighed at the receiving facility. Some vehicles may also be fitted with scales.
Roll On / Roll Off bins (Hooklift Bins) & Compactors
Hooklift bins are the biggest bins available and are perfect for large household/business clean-ups, or construction site jobs. They usually come in sizes of 10m³, 15m³, 25m³, 30m³ and in rare cases even 40m³.
